What Your Kitchen Renovation Includes

Every J Group kitchen project is fully managed, end to end:

  • Design & layout — we help you rework the footprint, not just the finishes: islands, open-concept conversions, storage planning
  • Custom & semi-custom cabinetry — built to your space
  • Countertops & backsplash — quartz, granite, porcelain; templated and installed
  • Plumbing, gas & electrical — licensed trades, permits handled by us when the work requires them
  • Flooring, lighting & paint — completed as one coordinated project, not a parade of separate contractors

What a Kitchen Renovation Costs in Toronto

Most of our kitchen renovations land between $25,000 and $60,000 before HST, depending on size, layout changes, and finishes. Cabinetry is usually the biggest line item — often up to 40% of the budget. Moving plumbing or gas, or removing walls, adds cost; keeping your existing layout keeps it down.

We quote every project the same way: an in-home consultation, then a detailed, itemized estimate with no hidden costs.

Kitchen Renovation FAQ

How long does a kitchen renovation take? Most full kitchen renovations take 4 to 8 weeks from demolition to final install. Custom cabinetry lead times (typically 6 weeks) are the main driver — we order early so the build isn't waiting on boxes.

Can I live at home during the renovation? Yes — most clients do. We set up a temporary kitchen space, seal off the work area with dust barriers, and keep water and power interruptions scheduled and short.

Do I need a permit for a kitchen renovation? Only if we're moving walls, plumbing, gas lines, or doing significant electrical work. Cosmetic updates don't need one. When a permit is required, we handle it. Full permit guide →

Do you renovate condo kitchens? Yes — we handle the condo-specific requirements: board approval, alteration agreements, elevator bookings and certificate-of-insurance paperwork.

Where do you work? Toronto, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham, North York and Etobicoke. See all areas we serve →
